Money Smart Class

Money Smart is a comprehensive financial education curriculum designed to help low- and moderate-income individuals outside the financial mainstream enhance their financial skills and create positive banking relationships and is directly in-line with the Vision of the United Food Bank. Money Smart has reached over 2.75 million consumers since 2001. Research shows that the curriculum can positively influence how consumers manage their finances, and these changes are sustainable in the months after the training.

Financial education fosters financial stability for individuals, families, and entire communities. The more people know about credit and banking services, the more likely they are to increase savings, buy homes, and improve their financial health and well being. In addition to these benefits, if a client attends a class, they will receive a voucher for 40 lbs of food. This will allow those families to secure additional food in short-term situations and/or for those families who have exhausted the 3 times/year limit.

The Money Smart program will be offered to our clients free of charge. Clients can register the same day the class by coming to our office at 9:00 a.m. and returning at 11:00 a.m. when the class will start.
